Hi Misty, thank you for your comment.

I wouldn't compare Obama with someone whom God uses for several reasons: He is a strident pro-abortionist and the people whose are close to him (William Ayers, for one) support a godless agenda.

I'm don't see anyone hiding behind God's word to offer criticism, rather speaking the truth in love as the truth will set you free.

I think you are right that God does not look at the appearance of people, the way you may be looking at Mr Obama's appearance and his background. You think nothing good can come from Nazaret, wait and see what the Lord will use this man to do.

As Christians, we should not hide behind the word of God to criticise other people because of their race or genda.

Annie, I'm not suggesting that Sarah Palin will be used in the same light as Esther, David, Deborah and Gideon, especially since God never does the same thing twice.

What I do think is that she has an opportunity to demonstrate God's love in very tangible ways, particularly through the giving of life to her youngest child, her role as a mother and wife, but also her place on the political ticket.

I read that point (#5) on the eight point hatchet piece and see little that is disturbing to me, if completely true in the first place. Though I disagree with some people's understanding on how Iraq fits into God's plan, I do see an even greater opportunity present: the word of God is getting out to Iraqis through believers who are serving in the military.

Some have supposed that Obama is "God's man for the moment" though I strongly do not hold to that position. Then again, God raises nations and leaders up and He brings them down, therefore I trust that this political cycle is in His hands above all.

this is just disgusting. i will not go into excessive detail but i have read ENOUGH to know that sarah palin will not be God's answer or moreso, as you so faithfully hope, a vessel for Him to speak through. i'm as well a christian, however, i feel that if you are going to be involved in politics, a christian, and have christian values put ahead of other things then you will need to read about palin's pastor. this link will help...
http://www.alternet.org/election08/97350?page=entire

so for you mccain/palin supporters, obama's preacher isn't the only one who should be criticized...palin's pastor is hateful, more so than obama's, i'd say.
if you want to be a true democracy-supporting, voting american then you WILL look at the site i posted and decide rightfully on the information given on all candidates.
please, from one christian to another...do not put christian values ahead of what's best for ALL. jesus doesn't just love christians...he loves EVERYONE, so fight for EVERYONE.

Thank you for your comment, Sarah.

Yes, just because someone calls themselves a Christian doesn't make them one. However, I'm particularly interested in the way Sarah Palin lives her life as a wife, mother of five, and as a woman who refused to abort her Down's Syndrome child.

It takes great character to stand on your principles even in the face of scorn and I see a woman who is doing just that. As far as the allegations go, I have been following that, but please remember that they are allegations -- she hasn't been proven to have done anything wrong. In fact, there is every indication that the person who filed these charges has an axe to grind, but we'll have to wait and see.

I don't put my trust in a person as we're all subject to human failings. Gideon and Esther were timid people, David was small and young, while Deborah was a woman who held a unique position, the first and only woman judge in Israel.

My prayer is that the next person who is elected seeks God's will for our country. We're a nation divided, sinking down a moral cesspool, and in need of divine intervention.

Just because someone claims to be Christian does not mean that they are. Placing your trust in a politician's word is feeble-minded.
Political maneuvering does not equal Christianity does not equal humility, per se.

Although you made some salient points in the beginning of your article, I do not think you have fully researched the character of this woman. Remember that what comes out of mouths is far different than the actions that we take. Someone being investigated for fraud and the like needs a bit more consideration.

Look at the men who are running our country right now! They were also hailed as good and humble and Christian, and they have proven themselves to be self-serving and not honest. We don't want a repeat of this. Unfortunately, I do not think that either set of candidates are good for the US at this time...
