Ed, I’ve been a Christian a long time and have tested the Scriptures, walked with Jesus, and have witnessed His grace which is much more valuable than even the world’s greatest riches.

What is your problem? Start thinking for yourself and stop looking for something that was written only by old men thousands of years ago. You only have so much time here, don’t waste it on a recycled myth.

The point of the Matthew verse is that Jesus is telling us that when these things are happening, we are not to be troubled, but are to know that our redemption is drawing near – ie, the return of Jesus. These events are terrible indeed, nobody would deny that, but they do point to the fact that it cannot be long before Jesus returns. That is exciting and so we must lift up our hearts. Not that there is such suffering, but that Jesus is soon to come back to put an end to All suffering, in ALL places. Even so come, Lord Jesus.

While most men’s hearts would fail them to hear such news,
especially in these days; God will raise up a standard.
This standard is Jesus Christ,so that all men can look up
and see where our salvation is found.
It’s a sign of the times for those who believe the scripture;
and a sure sign that believers must get busy; sharing the only good news to be found these days!
Let us not weary in well doing,for in due time ; we will reap if we do not lose heart.

Michael, you miss the point of this article. I never addressed the reasons behind the conflict, rather the Christian’s response to it which should be prayer, helping others, and trusting in God through difficult times.

I don’t need to know why something is happening in order to respond (if that can be made known), but to obey Him and leave the conflict resolution to Him.
