Thank you for your comment, Lisa.

Please define “pious Christian” because President Obama doesn’t purport to be a devout follower of Jesus Christ. I’m not saying that he is a Muslim as some insist that he is, rather I know that his actions are far removed from what a Christian would espouse including his stance on abortion.

I accept that for whatever reason Barack Obama’s is our nation’s 44th president. In many ways, America has gotten the man she deserves. As far as praying for Obama, I certainly do. But that doesn’t mean that I pray that his agenda be passed. Instead, I oppose much of what he stands for and am asking God to change his heart.

If god is omnipresent and omnipotent, that must mean it was god’s will that Barack Obama should become 44th President of the United States. Barack Obama is a pious Christian himself. Trust god; if you worked against what seems to have been his will by praying against Barack Obama, god has rejected your request and placed his choice in office as President. It would show faith to trust God’s will by praying FOR Barack Obama and his agenda now.

Amanda, please know that God hears your prayers. Obama’s election can serve another purpose, one that we don’t know about. Our nation is in dire straits, few people seem to realize it, but we must encourage ourselves in Him.

Here is a verse to encourage you:

Exodus 14:14 — “The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

I posted something about prayer and praying for Prez Obama in spite of my DEEP dissapointement reguarding the results… but I have had this nagging feeling of dread totally unwilling to leave my thoughts.

As you can see its a week later and I am still seeking encouragment. Its like…I know I am to have faith in God… but I am not following through with it! So then I spiral into more saddness of my rejection of the Lords will! Its been tough.

But your Scripture verses helped and I am thankful I came here. I agree with your words 100% and am thankful you worte them.
