Have at it, Oscar! It is a message the church needs to understand in order to free its members from giving that is law mandated.

Giving from the heart is where its at and God shows us what each one of us should could. Giving is still a command, but tithing is not.

Macky, based on what scripture to you believe that tithing is commanded? Giving is a command, but it isn't the same thing as tithing.

This post is totally cool. I believe that tithing is commanded by God.

Hi Mike, thank you for your comment. However, saying that tithing is "holy to the Lord" does not make it so. I've outlined several scriptural references which clearly demonstrate otherwise.

If we are to live under the law of tithing, then we must keep all of the other Old Testament laws -- not pick and choose the ones we want to follow. In fact, in Galatians 3:10 it says, "All who rely on observing the law are under a curse, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law."

I find that churches who mandate tithing are not trusting God to provide their needs. Thus, I find that these same churches are usually outside of the will of God, teaching many other things which are not scriptural. I'm not saying that you are part of such a congregation, but when you head down that road, then a lot of error can follow.

Tithing is indeed Holy to the Lord just as any other of His commands are. Let's keep it Holy. Only then will we experience financial breakthrough. God Bless you more!
